The future of Pogba is in doubt, its boss has high hopes for him.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly told Paul Pogba that he wants him to develop a partnership with Bruno Fernandes within the midfield. Following the arrival of the latter from Sporting Lisbon in January, the pair has yet to line up side by side. But although the longer term of Pogba is unsure, its boss has high hopes for him.

By injury, Pogba missed much of Manchester United’s season, with the 2018 World Cup winner making just eight appearances altogether competitions.

The last of these came back with a powerful attacking effort on Boxing Day when the Red Devils defeated Newcastle 4-1 at Old Trafford.

Pogba, who hasn’t played as of December thanks to an ankle injury, is probably going to be the topic of interest again during this summer’s transfer window.

Real Madrid is claimed to be lining up a bid of £70 m for France international, while Juventus, Inter Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain have all recently been credited with an interest.

Pogba has thus far been unable to play alongside Fernandes, since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in January, who has made a spectacular impact at United.

Fernandes has been involved in six goals from eight matches since signing, improving the probabilities of Red Devils finishing in qualification slots within the Champions League down the track. and therefore the Mirror report Solskjaer told Pogba that he wants him to create an honest international partnership with Portugal within the middle of the park.

The coronavirus outbreak means the big-money moves this summer are unlikely, however, implying that the Red Devils might hang on to the 2018 World Cup champion, a minimum of for the 2020-21 campaign.
