Ruben Loftus-Cheek admitted that he “felt a yard off” the pace after Chelsea ‘s victory over Aston Villa on Sunday, however, had promised to support his mental and physical “sharpness” after he came back from injury.

“Truly, after too long without contending it felt unbelievable 13 months after my last professional game,” Loftus-Cheek told Chelsea’s official site.

“To have the serious soul again and step into the pitch was great however there were no spectators so it looked very different. I sometimes felt the atmosphere of the game behind a yard, literally and psychologically, similar to you should practice each week when you’re centered around it. I was unable to say why I felt along these lines. That’s hard to portray. For the game, you don’t have the aroma, yet the more I’m playing, the more it’s returning.”

“I wasn’t too hard on myself, I’m only happy to play and grateful for being back on the field. Gradually, the sharpness will improve as I play more, and emotionally, I’ll be vastly improved,” he added.
