“I’m happy with how things are with the national team and that’s the most important thing for me right now. None of us comprehends what will happen later on. There is a clause in my contract that will allow me to leave work after the Euros for the national team yet now isn’t the time to consider it. Everyone realizes my dream is Coaching Barca. Perhaps I will do it later on, yet as always, it relies upon your outcomes and accomplishment as a coach you need a great deal of understanding to coach a team like Barca,” he added.

Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the 2019-20 season deferred in March, LaLiga champions Barca were two focuses ahead of the nearby rivals Real Madrid.

Koeman won four LaLiga titles at Camp Nou and the European Cup/Champions League during his time.

“Barca isn’t the same as [Pep] Guardiola today, however, she’s as yet a great unit,” said Koeman.

Dutch international midfielder Frenkie de Jong joined Eredivisie champions Ajax with Barca at the start of the season.

De Jong had scored two goals before the suspension of the season and furnished LaLiga with as many assists. De Jong is a player who can adapt to another midfield job. Koeman trusts De Jong’s best job is simply before the back four-where [Sergio] plays Busquets.
