Premier League Football Results – West Ham Win Away at Villa Park

West Ham have won back-to-back trips to Villa Park for the first time since 1967 beating 10-men Aston Villa 4-1. So, last night saw, in Premier League football results, West Ham win away at Villa Park.

West Ham had already won over strong contenders Tottenham Hotspur last time out, and we covered the football scores then.

As a result of this victory, now, David Moyes’ side move up to 20 points after ten Premier League games. They are thus equaling Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the third place on the English top-flight’s table.

Aston Villa, on the other hand have only managed to gain 10 points in as many fixtures. This, their losing streak extending to four games now, unfortunately places them only 3 points ahead of relegation zone.

It was Ben Johnson who scored an opener just 7 minutes into the game to put the ‘Hammers’ 1-0 up. He did so by drilling the ball goal into the bottom left-corner.

As the match went on, the hosts managed to drew level when Emiliano Buendia produced an accurate pass. Ollie Watkins picked up this pass and struck the ball into the middle of the net past helpless Lukasz Fabiansk.

All of Villa’s hard work washed away, however, as the guests responded sternly to losing the initial lead to them.

West Ham effectively reclaimed their one-goal lead 4 minutes after Villa’s equalizer, through Declan Rice accurate shot to making 2-1.

Then, the start of the second half went from bad to worse for the hosting side. Ezri Konsa brought Jarrod Bowen down and after a VAR review eventually got to a second yellow card.

This turned into a red card notice and referees sent Villa’s Konsa off the pitch. So, in other words, the guests outnumbered the hosts 50 minutes into the match, with 40 minutes to play.

It took some effort against a stubborn Villa defence, but eventually third and fourth goals from the Hammers arrived. They scored through Fablo Fornals and Bowen respectively, both bringing the ball under their spell. This allowed them both to calmly finishing off a counter-attack, each from close range.
