Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness has confirmed that the club intended to sign striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic at one stage.
“Zlatan is an excellent athlete, but his requests were god-like,” Hoeness confessed to RTL, according to Spiegel.
“Somehow, we were involved in him, but it never came to something concrete.”
Ibrahimovic has played in four of Europe’s top five leagues (Italy, Spain, France, and England) but never in the Bundesliga.
The 39-year-old forward is now a Milan player. This month, he returned to the Swedish national team.
