Diani has played at many youth levels for France, including within the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup where she scored four goals and helped her team win the championship.

 

On Monday, the 25-year-old striker signed a replacement three-year contract committing her future to PSG while refusing a suggestion to hitch rivals, Lyon.

Diani’s re-signing is not the only major deal PSG has done, which has also signed Nadia Nadim to an extension that will hold her with the club until 2021.

Diani turned down Lyon in re-signing with PSG, which matched PSG’s salary offer of €30,000 (£26,000/$33,000) per month.

Diani’s decision was supported her desire to remain in Paris, while PSG sporting director Leonardo personally called on her to convince her to sign an extension.

The striker also had been in discussions with Jean-Michel Aulas from Lyon, who was looking to introduce Diani to the club to play within the attack alongside Hegerberg.

With the contract, Diani will now earn an annual salary of €360,000 (£308,000/$393,000) per season at an equivalent amount as French team-mate Amandine Henry.

Diani scored 31 goals in 60 league appearances for PSG after Juvisy, now referred to as the Paris FC, joined the club in 2017.

The 25-year-old forward has also scored ten goals since winning 56 caps for the French national team. She began as a winger in four of France’s five matches at the planet Cup last summer, coming off the bench against Nigeria within the lone game where she wasn’t called a starter.

Diani was a neighborhood of two World Cup squads also as France’s team for Olympics 2016 and Euros 2017.
