Real Madrid will host Liverpool in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie tomorrow, and they are expected to field a good side.

When Liverpool takes on Real Madrid on Tuesday, they will be looking to avenge their 3-1 defeat in the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League final. After being utterly devoid of ideas only a few weeks ago, the Merseysiders have appeared more settled in their last few games.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid has clawed their way back into the La Liga championship chase, trailing league leaders Atletico Madrid by just three points. For Zinedine Zidane’s guys, Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio have been in good scoring shape, and they will bring their best foot forward on Tuesday.

Real Madrid is now undefeated in their last 11 games, winning nine of them. They will field their strongest lineup against Liverpool, who have a strong record away from home this season.

Let’s take a look at how Real Madrid will line up against Liverpool on Tuesday.

Real Madrid Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois hasn’t quite held many clean sheets this season, but he remains a dominant force between Real Madrid posts. The Belgian made sure Eibar didn’t have any fun in terms of goals this weekend by shutting down his target.

Courtois’ position has not been jeopardized this season due to his consistency, and he will be their starting goalkeeper on Tuesday.

Real Madrid Defenders

Real Madrid Defender Squad

Sergio Ramos sustained a calf injury while on international service, delivering a major blow to Real Madrid. As a result, they will be without their captain on Tuesday. Raphael Varane and Nacho are set to start at center-back in his absence.

Lucas Vazquez will most likely start at right-back. The Spaniard has been impressive in Real Madrid’s last three games, including a standout display in the 3-1 second-leg victory over Atalanta a few weeks ago.

Real Madrid Midfielders

Casemiro has been suspended for Real Madrid’s Round of 16 matches against Atalanta. He will return to the starting lineup and play central midfield. Casemiro’s ability to foil attacks will be vital to Real Madrid’s ability to keep their ground tomorrow.

Toni Kroos is set to play in central midfield alongside Luka Modric. Zinedine Zidane is supposed to continue with their tried-and-true relationship. Over the last decade, maybe no midfield partnership has been as effective in the UEFA Champions League as these two.

Real Madrid forwards

Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of Marco Asensio, who has been in outstanding form lately. Asensio has scored in two of Real Madrid’s last three games, and that’s the kind of form Zizou would want his key players to carry into a game as important as this one. He can play right wing at first.

Karim Benzema has been sensational for Real Madrid recently. In his last seven starts, he has nine goals and an assist. He has scored in each of Real Madrid’s last seven games, and there is no chance he will lead the charge against Liverpool on Tuesday.

Real Madrid has scored eight goals and conceded just two in their last three games. No team has scored more than one goal against Zinedine Zidane’s men in eleven games. They should be optimistic about their chances in this game against Liverpool.
