Tottenham eased into the last 16 of the Europa League when Dele Alli scored a wonderful goal in the second leg against Wolfsberger. A spectacular Dele Alli goal on Thursday helped Tottenham win a 4-0 win over Wolfsberger, who sealed their place in the last 16 of the Europa League.
Alli scored a spectacular bike kick in the first half before setting up Carlos Vinicius and replacing Gareth Bale in the second, as Jose Mourinho’s side eased to an aggregate victory of 8-1.
Alli played the ball out wide for Matt Doherty, brought his cross down, and sent a sublime overhead kick out of the grip of goalkeeper Manuel Kuttin and into the left-hand corner.
Vinicius should have made it 2-0 before the break after rounding Kuttin, but the shielding Gustav Henriksson did superbly to clear the striker’s effort off the line.
He made no mistake early in the second half when nodding in Alli’s deep cross shortly after Eric Dier had been fortunate to avoid punishment for taking out Cheikhou Dieng when Joe Hart’s goal was nearly over.
