For personal reasons, Montreal has announced Thierry Henry’s resignation as head coach.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have made that choice. It was extremely painful for me last year because I couldn’t see my kids because of the coronavirus pandemic,” said the coach.
“Unfortunately, the situation will not improve due to current constraints and the separation is too much for me and my kids. It is with great sorrow that I must decide to leave Montreal and return to London,” Henri said.
On 14 November 2019, the former Arsenal forward took over the Canadian club and led the side for the first time since 2016 to the MLS play-offs in 2020.
The team also reached the North American Champions League quarter-finals under him.
