The tragic summer overhaul

Like many football clubs in Europe, the coronavirus outbreak has hit the revenue stream in Barcelona badly, which changed the attack of the club when the transfer window reopened.

Barcelona’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu remains confident that they’re going to always be ready to sign the simplest players within the world, but after the worldwide pandemic, transactions might be arranged differently.

“Because of the pandemic there wouldn’t be the maximum amount liquidity within the export market,” he explained. “But I expect we’ll see tons more swap deals.”

Within the Barcelona camp there is a perception that a lot of players will either need to be sold or included in future deals to accumulate new talent during the large summer overhaul.

Sources suggest to ESPN that only Messi, Ter Stegen, and De Jong are excluded from transfer.

Barcelona has reportedly listed Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martínez and Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar as its main summer transfer targets.

The Argentine forward features a €111 million release clause but it’s not anticipated that the Spanish outfit will meet Inter’s valuation and discussed the likelihood to use players to lower the fee.

Additional reports say Barcelona will sign both superstar attackers during an “ideal situation.” Yet there is a feeling now that they are just getting to sign one among the 2.

Meanwhile, Neymar has been the target of intense transfer speculation with the player who is reportedly keen to return to Catalonia
