Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been named to Sweden’s squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Kosovo, reversing his decision to withdraw from international football.
Following Sweden’s exit from Euro 2016, the 39-year-old declared his retirement, with his fraught relationship with current Sweden coach Janne Andersson doing nothing to indicate he will ever return.
However, after months of speculation, Ibrahimovic has been named to Swibraeden’s World Cup qualifying squad for March.
The veteran forward took to Twitter to confirm the news, with his usual humility, writing: “The return of the God.”
