According to Sport1, Bayern Munich’s management team claims Hansi Flick is willing to return to the German national team but is secure in its ability to keep the sextuple-winning coach since his contract expires in 2023 and does not include an exit clause.
Sources also stated that neither Flick nor DFB director Oliver Bierhoff has made any formal contact with Bayern Munich to discuss a possible release of the 56-year-old coach.
According to SPORT1 details, Flick has not yet approached Bayern, Oliver Bierhoff, the national team’s director, has not yet contacted the Bavarians. The DFB wants to present Löw’s replacement before the European Championship in the summer, so that may change soon.
Bierhoff needs to take his time looking for a coach and explore many choices for the national team coach, according to SPORT1. He expects to consult with candidates and different Bundesliga administrators in the immediate future. Flick is and will continue to be the DFB’s top choice for national coach. FC Bayern is confident that he will accept the role if he is available.
Flick can only be released from the DFB if the Bavarians can find a replacement for the sextuple coach. Miroslav Klose, a co-coach who will complete his soccer coaching license in a few weeks, is unavailable.
On the other side, Julian Nagelsmann is. He does, however, have a deal with RB Leipzig until 2023, just like Flick. Bayern would have to pay a premium for the 33-year-old Upper Bavarian, and Leipzig would have to find a replacement for Nagelsmann in the coming weeks.
