Real Madrid will appeal to UEFA to revoke the yellow card earned by midfielder Casemiro against Atalanta (1-0) in the first leg of the Champions League 1/8 final, writes Marca.
The warning suggests that as it is his third Champions League appearance of the season, he will miss the return leg. As the replay reveals that Casemiro did not foul Atalanta’s forward Duvan Zapata, the club claims it was an unnecessary warning from referee Tobias Stieler.
Real Madrid, for this reason, is considering appealing the decision of the referee. The club, however, is aware that UEFA never overturns the initial decisions of the referees.
