Rashford: It was rough under Mourinho

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford opened the curtain on his “tough time” with Jose, maintaining that his attitude had been improved by the now-Tottenham Hotspur manager.

He took charge of the Red Devils in 2016 and 2018, at which time Rashford started making a name for himself at Old Trafford.

Under Mourinho, England’s international chalked up 28 goals and 20 assists, and claims his spell under the Spurs boss has turned him into the player he is today.

Rashford said, according to the Manchester United Podcast: “It’s been difficult but I guess when you look back at it in five to six years they’re the moments that give you your emotional stamina.”

“As an all-round player I’ve grown a lot and a lot of that is down to those two years under Jose. We’ve had ups and downs-as I look back at it, it was a difficult time but certainly a time that made a better player.” Rashford has scored 19 goals in all Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side competitions this season, including 14 in 22 Premier League outings.
