Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Kylian Mbappe stole the Champions League display when, in the Round of 16, his side came up against Barcelona. At Camp Nou, the French international went on to net a hat-trick, becoming the first player to do so in the knockout stage against Blaugrana.

Mbappe bagged the spotlight away from his scintillating success when he ended up in an altercation with defender Jordi Alba. The precise details have now emerged of the altercation.

In the first half, Movistar cameras picked up the conversation between Mbappe and Alba during a set-piece. The Frenchman begged Sergino Dest, a Barcelona youngster, not to contact him. But Alba decided to speak, asking him to get bigger. In perfect Spanish, Mbappe immediately retaliated harshly, saying, “I will kill you in the street.”

Gerard Pique, who had started his first game after injuring his knee, came to the rescue of Alba and asked Mbappe, “Who are you going to kill?” to which the Spaniards chuckled. “He’s learning. he’s learning” said Alba. Only after Brazilian defender Marquinhos interfered did things appear to calm down.

Later in the game, Mbappe went on to mock Pique. The former Spanish center-back was struggling to protect himself against Mbappe, who was playing his first game against Barcelona. The only way he could find out was to tug the shirt of the 22-year-old, sparking a meme fest on social media even further.
