Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has summarized the outcome of his teams 2-2 draw with Newcastle in the 30th round of the English Premier League.
“The EPL is a difficult league in which high-level football is played. It’s tough because you can’t demonstrate that you can play at that level,” Mourinho told the BBC.
“We made errors in safety, which resulted in insecurity. We had full charge of the game in the first half, and we had no issues in the second half. We had the chance to score a few goals. However, when we play offensively, we make errors that cause instability, which gives our opponents hope. Our rivals did not give up today.
You can’t hope to score three or five goals in any game. When you come out on another team’s field and score twice… It is typically difficult to predict an excess of goals in a match. It’s not all failures on defense. We have circumstances where we have possession of the ball, but I also know that the situation will end up in Lloris’ pocket. We occasionally cause our turbulence, encouraging our opponents to continue.”
