AC Milan drew 1:1 (1:1) with Crvena Zvezda Belgrade in the return match of the Europa League 1/16 final. From the 70th minute, the hosts played on a single-player advantage. They did not alter the outcome but ultimately progressed to the next round.

In the first game, Crvena stole a draw, scoring in stoppage time after Milan Rodić was disqualified for a red card while they were playing with ten players. It was also not idle in the second game.

A lot of enthusiasm came from the first minutes of the return clash. Rade Krunić struck a rival’s hand in the 7th minute and the arbiter ordered a penalty kick for Milan after consulting VAR.

Franck Kessie stepped up two minutes later to take the eleven-meter clip. Milan Borjan was fooled by the 24-year-optimistic old’s shot and gave the hosts the lead.

The luck of Milan did not last long. Second, El Fardou Ben’s strong shot from a free-kick struck the crossbar in the 22nd minute. The ball fluttered into the net two minutes later.

In the 24th minute, El Fardou Ben picked up Mirko Ivanic at the end of the pass and shot into the long corner of Gianluigi Donnarum’s net. Until the break, the score remained unchanged.

The visitors accelerated following the change of sides, and the Rossoneri lost some of the animations of the first part of the game. Several risky acts were created by footballers from Belgrade, but none resulted in a goal.

Marko Gobeljic saw his second yellow card in the 70th minute and ended his involvement in the match as a result.

In the end, the Milan players tried to turn the balance of victory in their favor, but finally, the match ended in a 1:1 draw, which gave the hosts advance to the next round.
