According to club legend Franck Ribery, Leroy Sane is starting to prove how valuable he can be to Bayern Munich after regaining his groove after a prolonged injury layoff.
Germany winger Sane joined Bayern from Manchester City in the summer, but he was in and out of the squad as he struggled to restore fitness after a knee injury limited him to only two games in his final season at the Etihad Stadium.
Sane has eight goals and nine assists this season in all tournaments, ranking fourth among Bayern players.
He has also generated 38 chances for his teammates, 11 of which are Opta-defined ‘major chances,’ ranking him fifth among Bayern’s squad.
Ribery, who spent 12 years at Bayern Munich, is overjoyed to see Sane proving his worth at the Allianz Arena.

“I’m delighted for him and Bayern,” Ribery told Sky Germany.
“When he first arrived in Munich, the strain was perhaps a little too much for him.”
“However, don’t forget that he was out sick for a long time.” It needs some time. But things are looking up for him now, and he’s an important player for Bayern.”
During his tenure at Bayern, Ribery won nine Bundesliga cups, six DFB-Pokals, and the Champions League.
The veteran winger has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, but for the time being, the 37-year-old is exclusively concentrated on Fiorentina, whom he joined after leaving Bayern Munich in 2019.
“Of course, I miss playing in the Bundesliga.” “I had my best time and won a lot at Bayern,” Ribery said.
“My priority is to stay in Florence, where I am content. We only have a few games remaining, and we urgently need the points. I’d like to assist the club.”
