According to The Sunday Times, Leeds United is considering a sensational move to appoint Massimiliano Allegri as their new manager if Marcelo Bielsa chooses to leave during the summer.
Leeds has recently contacted the former Juventus manager to see if he’d be interested in the role, according to transfer guru Duncan Castles.
Bielsa’s contract expires this summer, and the Whites are making a backup plan in case the 65-year-old decides to leave.
Allegri has been using his current break from the game to try to learn English in the hopes of securing a job in the Premier League one day.
The 53-year-old was the Old Lady’s manager for five years, winning five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia titles.
In the 2010/11 season, he also won the league with Milan, and his arrival at Elland Road would be a huge coup.
Of course, with Bielsa still in charge of the Leeds squad, it’s all theoretical for the time being.
