The new Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, has made his transfer plans public. Sergio Agüero of Manchester City and David Alaba of Bayern Munich are two players the manager wants to sign. The terms of both players are set to expire this summer. The players will be able to sign with other teams as free agents.
Last week, Pini Zahavi, the Austrian agent, and Fali Ramadani, the agent of Barcelona’s Miralem Pjanic, were in Barcelona. They are all working together as a team.
According to Mundo Deportivo, they have been in touch with Laporta’s team and have told him that a deal with Real Madrid has yet to be signed.
Laporta was told by Zahavi and Ramadani that Alaba was interested in joining Barça and that a verbal agreement had been reached. There have been no signatures on any documents. The financial aspect of the matter will be discussed shortly by both parties. Laporta is looking for a wage formula that would satisfy the Austrian while still suiting the club’s current financial position.
Sergio Agüero is delighted to be relocating to Barcelona. During the Barcelona vote, his agent told Laporta and another candidate Victor Fonta that the player is willing to join the Blues.
Agüero is able to accept a lower salary in exchange for a signing bonus. Agüero’s relationship with Messi is thought to have aided Laporte in convincing Leo to remain at Barcelona.
