Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants his side to approach the forthcoming mini-season as competitively as possible.
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has urged his team to “squeeze everything out of this season” to finish strong in 2020-21. Klopp is now hoping for a solid preseason to give his squad the best chance of finishing a difficult season on a positive note.
“There’s a lot to play for,” he said, according to Sky Sports.
“We’re not in the right shape to compete for Champions League places, but we’ll scrap for them, and if not, for other European spots.”
“It’s our work, and we want it. We want to be as prosperous as possible. We had different goals at the start of the season, which is natural, but we’re now in our situation, and our place isn’t as grim as it could’ve been, so we’re going to do anything to get more out of this season.
There are other teams in better spots, but we must ensure that we will catch them, but whether that is possible or not will be determined by the individual games, such as the one against Arsenal on Saturday. We don’t have enough points to throw away, because we have a difficult curriculum coming up. When you’re in our case, you don’t have anything to lose, so let’s go for it.”
