Jurgen Klopp has announced that as his time with Liverpool comes to an end, he will take a year off from football.

The Reds’ boss has had a challenging Premier League season so far, with several first-team defenders injured and a bad run of form at Anfield since the turn of the year, which has seen his team slip out of the title race and into the top four.

Klopp, who has recently been linked with the role of Germany’s national team coach, has confirmed that he needs time off and that no offer can persuade him to take another spot during his break.

“Once Liverpool finishes, it will undoubtedly be a year off. No one should phone, not after four months, not after six months. It’s a year’s change, no matter who tries it “Klopp mentioned this in an interview with Bild’s Lothar Matthaus.
