Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s head coach, summarized the 0-1 victory over Chelsea in the EPL’s 29th round.
“At that moment [with the goal], Mason Mount’s talent was the deciding factor. It was a competitive, tense match.”
According to the BBC, Klopp told Sky Sports, “Both teams put in a lot of effort. They had a goal ruled out for offside in the first half. A risky counterattack was also featured in the second half. We had more decent opportunities, like a great chance for Mane, as well as others when we didn’t score.”
“We weren’t at our best defensively. We should approach it differently, taking into consideration a variety of factors. We gave up one goal due to a blunder. The opponents scored from offside on another occasion. But you might argue we did a good job defending. However, with such power, you must create more opportunities. Except for the final movie, all was fine.”
“Anyway, you can’t tell we just have issues at home.” It’s not just Anfield; it’s a widespread problem. We must improve our performance in critical circumstances and demonstrate our abilities. We don’t always succeed in doing so.”
“It’s a setback, but it’s not the end. We’ve got to win football games.”
