Joan Laporta, the new president of Barcelona, was present at the team’s training session today.
The 58-year-old functionary met with the first team of the blue-garnet, Barcelona B, and the women’s team after winning the election on the eve of the election.
Laporta talked with Ronald Koeman, his coaching staff, and the players in the Barcelona dressing room.
For the fourth time, Laporta voted in the presidential election in Barcelona. He won the election in 2003, was re-elected in 2006 due to the absence of other candidates, and was defeated by Josep Bartomeu in 2015.
From 2003 to 2010, Laporta was the president of Barcelona. The club won La Liga four times and the Champions League twice during this period, for a total of 12 trophies. Barcelona won six trophies in a single year in 2009.
Josep Bartomeu took over as President after Laporte resigned in October.
