Though attaining a better profile in 2016, Jansen scored just six goals from twelve starters and 30 alternates in all competitions. While admitting that he had not ‘reached his potential’ in North London, the Dutchman indicated that Mauricio Pochettino had not presented him with ample chances.

The 25-year-old told VTBL, “This wasn’t the opportunity I was hoping for in Tottenham. It was a great step as a 22-year-old kid from AZ yet I didn’t get the minutes I needed. I didn’t reach my expectations as well.” Essentially, you want to compete now, be a player, and be valued.

Folding his trade with Monterrey’s Mexican side, Jansen scored 10 goals in 28 games.
