Inter Milan’s Saturday match against Sassuolo has been postponed due to an increase in coronavirus cases, and the team’s players have been barred from traveling for international service, the Italian club announced Thursday.

Inter’s Stefan de Vrij and Matas Vecino, both midfielders, were the most recent players to screen positive for COVID-19. Earlier this week, goalkeeper Samir Handanovi and defender Danilo D’Ambrosio tested positive.

According to Inter, the local health authority in Milan has agreed to postpone all team operations for four days, including the match against Sassuolo. The club has stated that all players had been “refused any call-ups to their respective national teams.”

According to Inter, the whole squad will be checked again on Monday.

After the weekend’s match, players are expected to resume their national teams for the start of World Cup qualification.

Inter Milan is attempting to win its first Serie A title in over a decade. The team coached by Antonio Conte leads second-place AC Milan by nine points.
