Hans-Dieter Flick comments on the outcome of Champions League final against Lazio: “Everyone met the criteria”

Hans-Dieter Flick, head coach of Bayern, commented on the outcome of the first leg of the 1/8 Champions League final against Lazio (4-1).

“Everyone met the criteria today. We showed a very strong team game, and from the beginning, we wanted to put pressure on the opponents and we did it well.”

The coach told the UEFA official website, “We were high on the ball and converted our chances, so we’re very pleased. The Champions League, particularly for our players, is a special tournament. From the outset, we wanted to be involved. At Bayern, everybody decided to do something special today.

The quarterfinals are what we want to hit. Today we have taken a big move, but there is one more game ahead of us.”
