In a way, you can understand why David Alaba doesn’t want to announce an agreement with a new club before the summer if his commitment to Bayern is challenged, but it’s all about Real Madrid right now.
They need to improve their security and they love signing a big star, although the fact that he will be free is particularly enticing considering their financial difficulties and there are even rumors that he has an agreement to sign in the summer:
David Alaba has reached a verbal agreement with Real Madrid since the beginning of January. His pre-contract until June 2025 is ‘almost ready’ – not signed yet.
Chelsea, Liverpool as other clubs are still trying to convince him… but Alaba’s priority is joining Real Madrid ⚪️ https://t.co/LITUivZexn

The problem with the absence of an official announcement is that it leaves a void, to begin with, speculation, and Spanish outlet Sport still thinks that Barcelona has a chance to pull this off.
There are a few things that still stand in the way of this, but the main one is Joan Laporta winning the presidential election because he is thought to be on excellent terms with Pini Zahavi, Alaba’s agent.
They continue to say that if Laporta wins, Barca will still have a chance to get a deal done and that the partnership with Zahavi is good enough to stop any talks with Real Madrid in the hope that an agreement will be reached with Barca.
As Alaba is asking for a big salary, finances would also be a major problem, so if they could find a way to pull this off, it will be pretty sensational.
All still points to his Bernabeu landing and the agreement may have already been signed, but speculation will continue before it becomes official.
