Bruno Fernandes insists United to buy Nuno Mendes from Sporting

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has encouraged the club to sign Sporting Lisbon left-back Nuno Mendes this summer.

This season, the 18-year-old has made 20 appearances for Fernandes’ former side, who currently lead the Primeira Liga table.

United has a decent left-back lineup, but they’ve recently made a concerted attempt to sign highly-rated young footballers from all over the world.

According to the Portuguese newspaper Record, Fernandes is pressuring the club to make an offer for Mendes, for whom he played before joining United in January 2020.
