Bayern Munich has reportedly made a €45 million bid for Liverpool defender Kalidou Koulibaly, with the German club hoping to sign the defender this summer.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis met with Koulibaly’s agent to negotiate the bid, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Site.
However, the report does not disclose the results of the conference, suggesting that Bayern’s €45 million bid is still on the table.
Liverpool has been linked with Koulibaly many times in recent transfer windows, with one article saying that the club was considering making an offer for him in the January transfer window. That did not seem to happen, and Koulibaly remained a Napoli player, with Bayern looking to swoop in and sign the Senegalese international.
Koulibaly is a world-class center-back who had a successful career with Napoli in Italy. Since his results for Gent in Europe in 2012, he has averaged a superb WhoScored ranking of 7.05, demonstrating that he has been amazingly reliable for the better part of a decade. At 29 years old,
He still has a few more years to offer at the top level at the age of 29, which is why he may be an excellent addition to Liverpool’s squad.
However, if they do not act quickly, they will lose out on him, as Bayern Munich has already made their move. This strategy has already cost Liverpool a goal, with Bayern Munich announcing the signing of Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig last month. As a result, Liverpool could lose two transfer goals to Bayern in the same summer.
