Barcelona is interested in signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
According to Francesc Aguilar of Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club will be unable to finance a move for the 20-year-old Norwegian if forward Lionel Messi’s deal is extended.
A contract for Haaland is expected to cost €125-130 million, and Barcelona does not have that kind of capital. The club that signs the Norwegian must pay not only Borussia Dortmund but also his agent Mino Raiola and his father Alf-Inge Haaland.
The Borussia Dortmund forward was recently reported to be the key transfer priority of new Barcelona president Joan Laporta.
This season, the player has 21 goals and 4 assists in 21 Bundesliga games.
