Barcelona will decline to sign Liverpool midfielder Jorginho Wijnaldum, who will be a free agent in the summer.
Due to the club’s tough financial condition, Wijnaldum could be turned down.
Instead, according to Sky Sports, Barcelona’s administration wants to negotiate with head coach Ronald Koeman and his team the permanent move of 18-year-old midfielder Ilaix Moriba to the club’s base.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta wants the club to emphasize collaborating with La Masia’s youth once more.
Moriba made his debut for Barcelona in January and has since made five La Liga starts, scoring one goal and assisting on two others.
Wijnaldum is also wanted by Liverpool, according to reports. The club has given him a new deal, which is currently being reviewed by the player’s representatives.
