After a video emerged of the top-scoring player breaking lockdown guidelines by getting a tattoo, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to be talked to by Arsenal.
The captain was seen getting a new tattoo on his hand in a clip posted on Instagram on February 9 by artist Alejandro Nicolas Bernal.
It is unclear when the incident took place and if there was a violation of the rules of the coronavirus given that Bernal could be part of the bubble of Aumabeyang.
An Arsenal spokesperson said: “We’re going to talk to the player to remind him of his duties and determine what has happened.”
The 31-year-old was allowed to leave the coronavirus-secure bubble of the Gunners in January to tend to his mother, who was going through some health problems.
On Sunday, Aubameyang made his first start for a month and marked his return to the line-up with a hat-trick against Leeds in a 4-2 win.
And after the Leeds victory, Bukayo Saka hailed his captain’s impact, has not started any of the previous five games.
He is amazing,” he said of the striker, “I can’t speak highly enough of him.
He has shown everyone how much quality he has when he gets a chance to put it away.
He can do it all, so we’re so pleased to have him, and it’s cool that he got a hat-trick for his confidence. We’ve got a big week ahead of us and we hope that he can get us some more goals.
We lost the last two games, but I thought we were pretty unlucky. But to get this one over the line, get the victory, it sets us up for a pretty rough week and gives us a lot of confidence going into the games.”
