Alvaro Morata’s contaminated by cytomegalovirus

News

Juventus striker Alvaro Morata’s recent bad form and fainting spells have been caused by cytomegalovirus, according to reports in Italy.

Calciomercato.com maintains that this condition is at the root of the visible dip of the Spaniard in form and the incident reported by coach Andrea Pirlo caused him to feel faint in the dressing room after the match in Porto.

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is linked to the chickenpox-causing herpes virus and is a normally harmless and very common virus.

When it is first contracted, there may be flu-like symptoms, but within three weeks, the immune system appears to have it under control.

The signs can include muscle aches, tiredness, and a sore throat.

Typically, it only creates real problems for babies or individuals with a compromised immune system.

Morata will hopefully be able to rest and heal, but he doesn’t have many choices with Paulo Dybala out due to a knee injury.
