Paris Saint-Germain defender, Alessandro Florenzi has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the Champions League game against Bayern Munich, the club announced on Monday.
Alessandro Florenzi has been proven positive in the “new PCR Sars-Cov2 test,” according to the club’s Twitter account.
The fullback succeeds fellow Italian Marco Verratti in checking positive.
PSG was still missing Argentine Leandro Paredes, who was suspended, as well as midfielder Verratti for the first leg of their quarter-final in Munich on Wednesday.
Florenzi and Verratti both played for Italy during the latest international break.
The match is a replay of the final from last season, in which Bayern won 1-0.
Florenzi “would thus value the isolation and is immune to the required health protocol,” according to PSG, who said that “the player has been in isolation for several days as a precaution.”
The full-back, who is on loan from Roma, was not named to the Ligue 1 squad for Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Lille.
Mauricio Pochettino’s choices right back in his absence include German Thilo Kehrer and Frenchman Colin Dagba.
