For the first time in 28 years, Liverpool has struggled to win since Manchester City got humbled 4-0 in five straight fixtures away, reports Goal.

Despite last week’s 2-1 defeat by City at Chelsea, the Reds claimed the crown of the Premier League, being the first team to claim the championship with seven matches to spare.

Jurgen Klopp ‘s men are still on track to crack City’s 2018-19 100-point mark haul but took their eyes off the ball at Etihad Stadium on Thursday.

For the first time since April 1992, when they suffered an eight-match run on the road without a goal, Liverpool has now gone five games straight away without scoring in all competitions. The two worst losses in charge at Anfield both fell to City’s hands, who also thrashed the Reds 5-0 in September 2017, but Reds’ fans are unlikely to be too disheartened due to their location table.

Liverpool will now have to step up again until a clash with Aston Villa on Sunday, though City is planning for a tough trip to Southampton.
