Kevin Kampl named Sadio Mane as the greatest team-mate

RB midfielder Kevin Kampl of Leipzig has recognized Sadio Mane of Liverpool as the best team-mate he at any point had.

When playing for Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, the two ran into each other, with Mane eventually leaving for England in 2014 when he joined Southampton before transferring to Anfield in 2016.

The Senegalese attacker has taken the world of football by storm since his transition to the Premier League and was cast a ballot African Footballer of the Year in 2019.

Although now among the best footballers in the world, Kampl has revealed that Mane’s expertise was never called into question, particularly when he was all the while playing in Austria.

“In my residency at Red Bull Salzburg, Sadio Mane was the best team-mate,” Kampl told Goal and Spox. “He simply had it all, the whole unit. He was fantastic on the pitch, incredibly brisk both with and without the pitch. He was aggressive before the goal and he made great passes.

“It was already realized he could turn into an extremely great player back at that point.”

Mane, presently 28, was the Premier League ‘s joint Golden Boot champ last season and played a central job in the Champions League victory in Liverpool. While Kampl presently plays for Leipzig in the Bundesliga having spent a lot of his career in Germany.

The midfielder’s residency in Austria at Salzburg under coach Roger Schmidt was anyway a defining moment for Kampl, who portrayed the German coach as the most influential in his career to date.

Kampl also played at Bayer Leverkusen under Schmidt and the Slovenian admits he chose to leave the club after the manager had done as such.

Mane was last season’s joint victor of the Premier League’s Golden Boot and played a crucial job in the Champions League win in Liverpool. Kampl now plays in Germany for Leipzig having burned through the vast majority of his career.
