Hyderabad FC has handed a three-year contract extension to full-back Akash Mishra. The youngster joined the club for the 2020-21 Indian Super League season and is now set to stay until 2024-25. Since Mishra arrived in Hyderabad, he has become an integral part of not only the club but the country as well. Mishra has played the most number of minutes when compared to his teammates during his last two seasons.

“As a club, we’ve been through a lot in my two seasons here. Even before we became Champions, I have an emotional attachment to the club and it was an easy decision for me to stay,” Hyderabad FC full-back Akash Mishra said. “The supporters are very important for us as a player or us as a club. Without them, winning the ISL trophy would have felt incomplete. We have seen their support on social media but now it is time to show us the love at Gachibowli. We promise to give it our 100% every time and never disappoint.”

“You don’t have to convince a player to play for Coach Manolo. Anyone who has played under him will tell you how good he is on and off the field. I have learned a lot from him and I hope I can continue learning in the years to come,” he added.

Chennaiyin FC has completed the signings of Aakash Sangwan and Sajal Bag. The former will join from Marina Machans while Bag will join after reaching the final of the Santosh Trophy with Bengal.

“In Aakash, we have an I-League winner who has shown on many occasions that he is a player that can be relied upon in the backline. We are also aware of young Sajals’ exploits in the recently concluded Santosh Trophy with Bengal and we believe we can provide him the support he needs to break through,” the co-owner Dani added.
