Gareth Bale has been one of the protagonists as LaLiga returned this weekend after a three-month break. Bale came on as a substitute for Eden Hazard on 60 minutes but did not settle into the game. In the new circumstances that all teams are facing due to the coronavirus crisis, Bale looked a little off the pace. He seemed detached, like the atmosphere of a Di Stéfano practically empty.

After suffering muscular pains he missed Monday training session. Medical staff in Madrid think it’s just overload and hopefully tomorrow he will be back in training under orders from Zidane.

Gareth Bale missed Real Madrid training Monday with muscle pain after playing 30 minutes in Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Eibar. The Welshman, who has had several injury problems with the Spanish club during his career, has been rested by medical staff. They fear to overload Bale too soon and the winger is expected to be back in action on Tuesday according to AS.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen Bale look unselfish. He’s a player who needs to feel he ‘s important but his performance level drops when his chance comes. He has only completed 115 full matches of the 250 games he has played for Madrid since joining the club in 2013.

His big concern was his injuries that stopped him from displaying more frequently his genius.

Since the league meeting with Celta at the Bernabéu on 16 February, he hasn’t featured in a starting line-up for Madrid and he hasn’t scored since his goal against Unionists in Salamanca in the Copa at the beginning of the year.

Medical staff is hoping Bale will again be working on maximum strength and will be careful to press him too much. Bale missed several sessions due to physical overload when the Real Squad returned to the training and his progress was slower than some of his team-mates.
