Football News

On Wednesday, Chelsea football club announced goalkeeper Willy Caballero and striker Olivier Giroud have broadened their contracts by one year. The contract expansions will keep the two players at the club until the finish of the season for 2020-21.

The announcements were made in rapid progression and about the expansion, Caballero said, “I’m pleased to make this announcement. It’s a pleasure to be part of this Chelsea squad and the Chelsea family at one of the Premier League’s most famous clubs. It’s a tough time for everybody at the present time and I feel advantaged with this chance and appreciate the chance. I might want to thank my team-mates for helping me be my best and I might want to thank the manager and the club for expanding my contract. I’m certain they will continue demanding the maximum from me and I will rival the same vitality as ever. I’m so happy.”

The 38-year-old joined the Blues from Manchester City in the summer of 2017, where he had burned through three seasons. He made 13 appearances at Stamford Bridge in his first campaign and has made nine appearances this season.

Giroud, then again, said, “I’m pleased to proceed with my excursion and adventure at Chelsea. I can’t wait to come back with my team-mates to play and appreciate serious football. I ‘m anticipating wearing the Chelsea shirt again, particularly before our fans at a full Stamford Bridge, at whatever point it’s safe to do as such.”

Coach Frank Lampard, then again, said, “Since I was back in Chelsea, Olivier has been brilliant as a professional and as a man in general. He has great qualities to help the squad both on and off the pitch, with his talent as well as with the example he sets each day and the experience he brings to our young squad. I’m extremely pleased that next season will proceed.”
