Juventus and Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo claims Usain Bolt is “definitely faster than him.
In 2017, Bolt retired from athletics, but the 8-time Olympic gold medalist still holds world records of more than 100 and 200 meters.
At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, the 34-year-old clocked a world-record time of 9.58 seconds in the 100m, though he also ran 200m in 19.19s 11 years earlier in the German city.
But Bolt feels that the five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or and footballer Ronaldo are quicker.
“Cristiano [is quicker than me for sure,” said Marca Sports Weekend to Manchester United fan Bolt, who also tried to build a post-athletics football career after trials with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and A-League side Central Coast Mariners.
He works out for me every day and he’s a super athlete.
He still works hard at the top of his game and he is focused. I certainly think he’ll be quicker than me right now.
Ronaldo has scored six goals this season in four Serie A appearances for Juventus, while the 35-year-old netted on Wednesday in Andorra’s 7-0 friendly rout of Portugal.
Ronaldo spent six years at United, where he won three Premier League titles and among other honors, the Champions League, after bursting onto the stage at Sporting CP.
