UEFA Executive Committee confirms Final Eight format

The Champions League and Europa League both will follow a Final Eight format as expected for the remainder of this season. The UEFA Executive Committee chose this afternoon that, according to Football Italia, ties would be held in the Champions League from the quarter-final stage on across two settings in Lisbon.

The smaller than normal tournament, made up of seven knockout fixtures, starts on August 11 and completes on August 23, 12 days later. Prior to this, the Champions League’s remaining four Last-16 second legs — including Juventus-Olympique Lyonnais and Barcelona-Napoli — will be played on 7-8 August at settings that are up in the air. Meanwhile, the Europa League will end in Cologne, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, and Gelsenkirchen, the four German urban areas.

Its final eight is booked for 5-6 August at the designated home scene or in Germany, between 10-21 August, with the Last-16 ties still exceptional.

On account of Inter-Getafe and Sevilla-Roma, that never kicked out, those ties will be negotiated over a solitary leg. All games will be played at 20:00 BST (21:00 CET), aside from a portion of the ones remaining in the Europa League Round of 16 that could commence at 17:55 BST (18:55 CET).
