Tuchel equals Rafael Benitez’s clean sheet record

Football News

Chelsea won their first victory under new manager Thomas Tuchel when they beat Burnley 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Cesar Azpilicueta opened the halftime stroke scoring with a superb finish, before Marcos Alonso, who began the match ahead of Ben Chilwell, claimed his first victory for the German Blues boss.

Chelsea posted a second consecutive clean sheet under Tuchel, whose first game in charge was a drab goalless draw at the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers last Wednesday.

Tuchel became the first Chelsea manager to keep a clean sheet in each of his first two Premier League matches since the debut of former boss Rafael Benitez in 2012.
