Real Madrid seem like the early favorites to land Erling Haaland – Real Madrid Transfers

Transfer News

Real Madrid will have to prioritize Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland in the summer 2021 transfer window, as Kylian Mbappe’s status with PSG remains uncertain amid the lack of progress on his contract extension negotiations. PSG’s selling price, along with Mbappe’s salary, makes him the much more difficult signing.

And Haaland will be an equally enticing contribution to a Real Madrid attack that has been without a genuine top scorer for years. Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus, it has been the well-rounded Karim Benzema who has borne the load of 20 goals a season.

There will be resistance from Manchester City and perhaps Chelsea, but there are reasons to think Los Blancos will prevail.

Manchester City and maybe Chelsea may be interested in signing the striker, but there are reasons to think Los Blancos have the upper hand.

Erling Haaland has made his decision, according to Josep Pedrerol of El Chiringuito. His mind is made up. He likes Real Madrid to the other clubs and intends to join the club in 2021. Not for his escape option in 2022. He needs to make the move right now. It is, though, entirely up to Dortmund. They must make the decision and determine the price.
