The Blancos were worried, as Goal reported on May 6, that Zidane would resign after the season because he was tired of dealing with factors beyond his control. And now that Zidane has formally stood down, people in Madrid are looking for a candidate who can lead the club to victory.

When Zidane’s decision to leave was originally announced, it is believed that Massimiliano Allegri was the Blancos board’s first option.

While both parties want to make a deal, Pochettino realizing that coaching Madrid would be a dream come true. Striking an agreement with PSG will be difficult.

The Argentine is under contract until the summer of 2022, and releasing him would necessitate compensation.
