A permanent move to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin has been completed by Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira.
Khedira, 34, helped Juve secure five consecutive Serie A titles in Italy over five and a half years.
But he didn’t play this season and, 11 years after leaving Stuttgart for Real Madrid, he returned to club football in Germany.
Until returning to service successfully, Khedira had treatment for an irregular heartbeat in February 2019.
“Hertha put in a lot of effort to sign me, for which I am very grateful.”
No details of the contract were disclosed by Hertha.
Two months after winning the Champions League with Real Madrid, Khedira led to Germany winning the 2014 World Cup.
At Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, Hertha lost 3-1 and is 15th in the Bundesliga table.
