Aberdeen has signed Christian Ramirez from Houston Dynamos subject to the striker passing his medical with the club. He has played for Minnesota united as well as Los Angeles FC before joining Houston. Ramirez is 30 years old and has two caps for the national team. He has won two NASL golden boot awards while making the team of the year on two occasions.
“I feel extremely blessed and excited about the opportunity to play for such a historic club, and more importantly to be part of this new era under the manager, Stephen Glass,” Ramirez said. “When the prospect of joining Aberdeen FC was presented to me, I knew it was one I couldn’t pass on. I can’t wait to get to Aberdeen and meet the staff, players, and supporters. I’m ready to give this club my all.”
Ramirez will require to self-isolate before he can join the squad for pre-season. Aberdeen has already begun their pre-season. They have had to start earlier because of their Europa conference league qualification match on July 22 with BK Hacken.
“Securing a center-forward was vital for us and, when we started looking, Christian immediately became a priority,” said Aberdeen manager Glass about Christian Ramirez. “We have had to work really hard as a club to get this finalized and we are delighted to be able to add a proven goal scorer who is still at a very good age and is a full internationalist.”
