Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust members recently had a vote with an overwhelming majority voted in favour of the Executive Board to resign. 90% of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust members voted in favour of the motion at members meeting online. The Trust has made it clear that they can no longer trust the club after refusing to discuss details of the proposed European Super League in the past few years. The club has termed the European Super League as “hypothetical” in the past.

“We call for the immediate resignation of the Executive Board of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, and for the owners to work with us to appoint a new board that has elected and accountable fan representation on it.” a statement from the trust read. “That representation must make key decisions about the running of the club dependent upon fan approval, and we would expect to see that made a legal requirement across the game.”

“This has been adopted as the official THST position with immediate effect. We have informed the board of THFC of this decision.” the statement added. “The responsibility of the Club’s Board is to always act in the best interests of THFC. The current board clearly has not acted in the best interests of the football club. In fact, its action could still lead to outcomes that are in the worst interests of THFC.”

The motion for the Tottenham Hotspur Board to resign came a few hours after the remaining of the 14 clubs in the Premier League wanted all the executives involved in the Super League to resign. There have been fan protests held outside the stadiums of the Big Six after the European Super League debacle. Tottenham Hotspurs arch-rivals were protesting outside the Emirates at the same time the meeting was conducted. Arsenal is calling for the current owners, the Kroenke’s to sell the club.
