Heng-Min Son once again scored the match-winner for Tottenham against North London rivals Arsenal. The game was a cagey affair with not too many chances created. 11 minutes from time, Son unleashed a venomous shot to beat Leno at his near post. It was the perfect debut for coach Nuno Espirito Santo in front of the home fans. The scoreline could have been far worse for the Gunners with Dele Alli hitting the woodwork twice.
It was the second consecutive defeat for the Gunners before the start of the Premier League season against Brentford. Arteta would be happy with Ben White and Sambi Lokonga making their first starts. The best moment of the match came when arsenal’s Bukayo Saka came on in the second half. He received a heartfelt round of applause from the home fans. Saka in turn applauded them back.

Managers Reaction
Spurs head coach Nuno Espirito Santo: “It was a good game, a tough one. We started really well, created chances, then we lost a bit of control, but we finished the game really well.” he added after his Tottenham side beat Arsenal. ”That’s a really good sign, finishing games stronger is where we want to improve. The reception from the fans was amazing, it’s important to feel good at home and we have amazing supporters.”
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta: “It was a great test, to play that kind of game before starting.” he added. ”We had problems in the first 10 mins and were a little disorganized, but we got control of the game and dominated. The second half was interrupted with substitutions and the game was decided in an action where we made a mistake and were punished.”
