Luis Suarez admits that he wanted to take an Italian citizenship test, unaware of Juventus’ involvement.
The Atletico Madrid forward received a B1 passing score during his oral examination at the University for Foreigners in Perugia last September, but the Italian ‘Guardia di Finanza’ heard all the questions before the test had taken place.
Suarez was playing for Barcelona at the time, and Juventus had been in talks to sign him.
The former Liverpool hero announced in December that before taking the exam with the Old Woman, he had already reached an understanding.
“Many clubs were interested, not just Juventus,” Suarez said in a new El Transistor interview.
“Because I have been working on it for more than a year, I have continued the process of getting Italian citizenship.”
